Homemade Taco Seasoning

I decided it was time to take a little break from all the sweet stuff. Here is an easy recipe for homemade taco seasoning.

I know those little taco seasoning packets are full of sodium, and that isn’t good for you. When I saw this recipe I was so happy, who knew it was so easy to make your own healthy taco seasoning!

It is perfect! You would never know it wasn’t a package; in fact it is better than the package!

Here is what you need,

4 tbsp. Chili powder
3 tbsp. Paprika
3 tbsp. Ground Cumin
2 tbsp. Onion Powder
1 tbsp. Garlic Powder
¼ tsp. Cayenne pepper
2 tbsp. dry Oregano
2 tbsp. Sugar
2 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. black Pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Store in an airtight container until you are ready to use.

To make the taco mix, brown 1 lb. of ground beef. Pour off any fat. Add 2 heaping tablespoons of taco seasoning and 1 cup of water to the browned meat. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the all the liquid is almost gone.
Serve with all the fixin’s!

Taco night is changed forever!! Sorry Old El Paso, I have moved on!!
